Clarington says its Municipal Clerk certified the 2026 election results on October 27, confirming the seven council members for the 2026–2030 term. The municipality’s announcement sets the inaugural meeting for Monday, November 23.

The municipality reports that 29,520 of 86,879 eligible voters cast ballots, giving turnout of 34 per cent. Its release says 95.7 per cent of participating electors voted online and 4.3 per cent used the telephone.
The council will be sworn in at the November 23 meeting, according to the announcement. The release does not provide a meeting time, so residents planning to attend should check the municipality’s meeting information nearer the date.
