Durham Region will hold its first Newcomer Day on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Regional Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East in Whitby.
The free, family-friendly gathering is open to newcomers and long-time residents. It will run rain or shine, with activities both inside and outside.
What is planned
Visitors can learn about local programs and community resources, watch cultural performances and explore exhibits and a vendor marketplace. Children’s activities are also planned.
The Region is hosting the event with the Durham Employment and Newcomer Centre, with Team Kartik as presenter. Residents can check the official event information before attending.
