Visitors to the Scugog Community Recreation Centre should check access before heading to the dog park or ball diamonds this week. The Township says paving on the east side of the recreation centre parking lot will require the connecting laneway to close while the work takes place.
Weather-dependent work
The November 2 notice places the asphalt replacement in the week of November 2, subject to weather. It is a further stage of the parking lot reconstruction already underway.
The restriction concerns access to the dog park and ball diamonds during paving. The notice does not announce that the entire recreation centre or all its programs are closed.
Check for a reopening notice
The Township says it will announce when access has reopened. It does not give a fixed reopening date, daily work hours or an alternative access route. Residents should consult the current Township notice before travelling rather than assume the lane is open.
Sources and verification
The full official notice and Township news index were checked November 3. The index supplies the November 2 publication date, separate from the stated work period. Related AllAboutDurham.com coverage was also read; this original summary was verified against the Township’s announcement.
