South Oshawa Community Centre Pool is scheduled to reopen Wednesday, September 16 after reconstruction and essential repairs, the City of Oshawa says.
The City describes the work as intended to support safe, continued operation of the pool for families, swimmers and aquatic-program participants.
Free leisure swimming
An appreciation day on Saturday, September 19 will include free leisure swims from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Entry is first-come, first-served and subject to capacity. Light refreshments are to be offered while quantities last.
Oshawa Council has also approved free leisure swimming for Oshawa residents for the remainder of 2026. Residents must show government-issued identification confirming Oshawa residency. Capacity limits, admission requirements and pool rules still apply.
Lessons and registration
Swimming lessons and aquatic programs at the facility are expected to begin during the week of October 13. Registration opens September 29 at 9 a.m. Registration fees apply, although the City says transfer fees will be waived until October 9 for residents moving an existing registration from another municipal pool.
