Brock Road at Highway 401 is reduced to one lane in each direction through 5 a.m. Monday, September 14, according to the City of Pickering. The weekend schedule is weather permitting, and the city advises motorists to expect significant delays.
The closure began Friday at 10 p.m. It is part of Ontario Ministry of Transportation rehabilitation and emergency repair work affecting Brock Road, the CN overpass and the Highway 401 bridge.
Why the weekend restriction is needed
Pickering says the weekend lane reduction allows the Ministry’s contractor to remove and repair deteriorated concrete beneath bridge lanes without live traffic travelling overhead.
The eastbound Highway 401 on-ramp at Brock Road also remains closed and is expected to reopen in late fall 2026. The city identifies Whites Road in Pickering and Westney Road in Ajax as the nearest eastbound Highway 401 access points.
