Whitby Public Library is continuing its series of public candidate meetings ahead of the October 26 municipal election. Three upcoming sessions will give residents opportunities to hear from candidates for local, regional and mayoral office.
Upcoming meetings
- Ward 3 (Centre Ward): Town Councillor and Regional Councillor candidates, September 29 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Central Library.
- Ward 4 (East Ward): Town Councillor and Regional Councillor candidates, October 6 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Central Library.
- Candidates for Mayor: October 13 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Central Library.
The library says the meetings are intended to help residents learn about candidates’ priorities, hear different perspectives and ask informed questions. Earlier sessions for Wards 1 and 2 took place on September 8 and 15.
Election dates
Whitby’s advance voting period runs October 22 to 25, with voting locations open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting Day is Monday, October 26, with locations open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
