Clarington’s forestry team will hold free outdoor tree-pruning demonstrations at four municipal parks on Saturday, September 26 as part of National Forest Week.
Municipal arborists plan to explain why and when trees should be pruned, show practices that support long-term tree health and answer questions about caring for trees on private property.
Four park locations
Demonstrations are scheduled from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Rosswell Park in Courtice and Newcastle Community Park in Newcastle. Sessions are also scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. at Orono Park and Guildwood Park in Bowmanville.
The events are open to everyone and do not require registration. Clarington says parking may be limited and encourages walking, cycling or other active transportation where practical. Outdoor washrooms or portable toilets are expected to be available.
