The Uxbridge Youth Centre has received $50,000 from Durham Region’s Thriving Communities Fund to expand structured programming for local youth.
The Township of Uxbridge says the funding will support the centre’s Youth Pathways to Thriving Futures project. Planned programming covers employment readiness, mental health, food and life skills, and youth leadership.
The money is part of the Region’s Community Social Investment Program. The official announcement says the Uxbridge Youth Centre is one of 11 organizations receiving funding through this year’s program.
The youth centre is an independent non-profit organization and is not operated by the Township.
