Elizabeth Roy has been re-elected mayor of Whitby, according to the certified results of the October 26, 2026 municipal election. Town Clerk Christopher Harris signed the Certified Results of Election (EL 32) on October 27, 2026.
Certified mayoral results
- Elizabeth Roy: 19,177 votes (51.87%).
- Chris Leahy: 16,122 votes (43.60%).
- Harshini Rajmohan: 1,674 votes (4.53%).
Roy’s margin was 3,055 votes. Percentages are calculated from the 36,973 votes recorded for the three mayoral candidates.
Turnout corrected in the certified record
The EL 32 records turnout of 30.83%, with 120,873 eligible electors and 37,267 electors who voted (ballots cast). This supersedes the earlier results-service figures of 31.12% and 119,763 eligible voters; the 37,267 count is unchanged.
Whitby council results
- North Ward 1: town councillor Jay White; regional councillor Rhonda Mulcahy, 5,031 votes.
- West Ward 2: town councillor Matt Cardwell; regional councillor Deidre Newman, 8,277 votes.
- Centre Ward 3: town councillor Bob Baker; regional councillor Niki Lundquist, 3,749 votes.
- East Ward 4: town councillor Victoria Bozinovski; regional councillor Steve Yamada, 5,867 votes.
Still pending: declined and rejected ballots
The certified declaration says both declined-ballot and rejected-ballot counts will be provided at a later date. These figures remain pending and are not inferred from the difference between mayoral votes and total electors who voted.
