The city says voters must use the information in their Voter Information Letter to complete registration, obtain a voting PIN and reach the secure voting website. Registration for online voting must be completed by 6 p.m. on Voting Day, Monday, October 26.
Assistance is available during the voting period
Voter Assistance Centres are available for residents who need help voting online or need access to a city-provided device. Voters attending a centre should bring their Voter Information Letter, acceptable identification and access to either a phone or email account for receiving their voting PIN.
People who did not receive a letter or have misplaced it can visit the City Hall Voter Assistance Centre during the advance period for a replacement. The city’s election page has the current centre schedule and ward information.
Paper ballots are limited to Voting Day
Oshawa says paper ballots can be cast only on October 26 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. at a Voter Assistance Centre in the voter’s ward. Electors should bring their letter and acceptable identification; anyone without a letter should bring two pieces of identification.
Proxy voting is also available only by paper ballot on Voting Day. The required appointment form must be picked up, completed and returned to the City Hall assistance centre for certification.
