Whitby’s certified candidate list is available: what voters should verify now

The Town of Whitby has made its certified candidate information available for the October 26, 2026 municipal and school board election.

The official election page is the place to confirm candidates for mayor, regional and local council positions, and applicable school board trustee races. Voters can also use the Town’s election information to review eligibility, registration and voting instructions.

Three checks to make before election day

  1. Confirm your registration. Make sure your name and address appear correctly on the voters’ list.
  2. Confirm your ward. Ward boundaries determine which local council candidates appear on your ballot.
  3. Confirm candidate status. Use the Town Clerk’s information for certified names and any subsequent status changes.

Campaign websites and social accounts can explain a candidate’s own platform, but they are candidate-controlled sources. DurhamPoliticians links those materials where verified and distinguishes them from official clerk records and independent reporting.
